If I wasn’t a cricketer, I’d be: Probably have something to do with accounting, as I enjoyed accounts and math in school.

I never leave home without: My cell phone.

I can cook: A braai (a barbecue in SA).

My ideal woman is: Someone who can make me laugh.

My best day on the cricket field: When I made my Test debut for South Africa versus England in 1995.

My worst day on the cricket field: When we were knocked out of this year’s World Cup.

The spell I would love to have bowled: Malinga’s effort of four in four (four wickets in four balls) against us during the World Cup (2007) in the West Indies.

My favourite stress-buster: Playing golf.

My autobiography would be called: The Unknown.

My favourite film: The Hangover.

The cartoon character I most identify with: Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story.

For me, Calcutta means: A friendly city with great food.

For me, KKR means: My second home — basically feeling at home with the group.

My kind of books: All biographies and true-life dramas. Every now and then, I read a bit of fiction but nothing too far-fetched… some mysteries and espionage.

My kind of movies: Pretty much the same as the books I read.

My kind of TV shows: Enjoy watching Discovery Channel.

My kind of music: All kinds — no real preference but certainly NOT heavy metal! I listen to a bit of rock, though.

My gadgets: I travel with my laptop and cell phone, but I’m not a huge gadgets man.

My fitness regimen: Long- distance running, shuffling exercises for running between wickets and weight training to stay nice and strong and to be able to hit the ball out of the park.

Diet tips: I drink a lot of water to stay rehydrated, especially in hot and humid climate like here in India. I stay away from fast food. I generally eat healthy food, with loads of protein. Sometimes, if I don’t feel like having a meal, I have a protein shake.

My favourite place to travel: I love to say home. We are away so much that it is almost like being on a holiday! But I do enjoy going to Mauritius. It’s a nice place to get away to and spend time on the beach. I can relax because not many people know me there.

The person I would love to trade places with for a week: Tiger Woods.
