BEST BATTLE

The Contenders
Greyjoy vs Greyjoy: The Pirates of the Caribbean-esque sea battle in the second episode was beautifully executed, with the lovable rascal Jack Sparrow being replaced by a maniacal psychopath, Euron Greyjoy.
Lannisters vs Drogon: The Lannister army wasn’t expecting to face the Dothrakis, led by Dany on Drogon on their way back from Highgarden. You can only watch in horror and awe as Drogon burned down rows and rows of soldiers, wagons and more. Bronn braving Drogon’s fire to shoot the Scorpion at him was one of the highlights of the battle.
Night King vs Jon and Daenerys: There is something epic about a battle where a handful of people are trapped on a small rock outcrop, in the middle of a frozen lake, surrounded by thousands of undead. You can’t help but admire the bravery of the men fighting a losing battle, and then you add three dragons to the mix and it becomes stunning.
The Winner
Lannisters vs Drogon
MOST EPIC FIRST MEET

The Contenders
Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow: We have been waiting for this meeting, like, forever. The first meeting highlighted their differences and there wasn’t much of a spark, but that’s all in the past now.
Daenerys and Cersei: Two most powerful and, at the moment, only contenders for the Iron Throne met for the first time and sparks erupted. Dany flexed her muscle while Cersei sharpened her tongue.
Jon and Drogon: Even before Bran confirmed it verbally, Jon and Drogon’s first meeting at Dragonstone sealed the deal for us. When Drogon allowed Jon to touch him we couldn’t but wonder if he smelled a Targaryen!
The Winner
Jon and Drogon
BEST DUO

The Contenders
Bronn and Jaime: Bronn’s sass armed with Jaime’s sophistication was a major highlight this season. From their c**k talk to Bronn saving Jaime from Drogon, their chemistry was a treat. Let’s just hope Jaime swings by whichever brothel Bronn is at on his way to the North.
Sansa and Arya: The Stark sisters more than made up for a slow and sad start when they ganged up on Littlefinger and beat him at his own game.
Daenerys and Jon: Daenerys and Jon not only engaged in aesthetically pleasing hanky-panky, but managed to convince fans that incest is okay!
The Winner
Bronn and Jaime
MOST EFFECTIVE DEATH

The Contenders
House Frey: When the first episode of the season opened with Walder Frey presiding over a dinner party we all thought it was a flashback, till all the Freys started dropping dead, and Walder Frey took off his face to reveal a badass Arya Stark.
Olenna Tyrell: The Queen of Thorns was sassy and badass right until her death. Even after Highgarden is taken by the Lannisters and Jaime poisons her wine, she called Jaime a fool, Cersei a monster and delivered her last blow to the Lannisters — admitting her role in Joffrey’s death.
Petyr Baelish: We’ve been waiting for Littlefinger’s death for ages now. It was satisfying that he got played at his own game by none other than Sansa and Arya, before having his throat slit, matter-of-factly by Arya, with his dagger.
The Winner
Petyr Baelish
BEST REUNION

The Contenders
Jaime and Tyrion: When the two brothers meet each other for the first time since Season 4, there’s mutual love and affection, complicated by the fact that Tyrion killed their father, which made for a moving reunion. Watch and learn, Stark children!
Arya and Nymeria: When Arya finally met Nymeria, her long-lost direwolf and offered Nymeria the chance to “finally go home”, Nymeria walked away. “That’s not me,” said Arya, something she’d told dad Ned when he said she’ll be a lady and marry. Her direwolf like Arya is meant to live free and make its own rules.
Gendry and Davos: After saving him from the wicked Melisandre, Ser Davos found Gendry working as a blacksmith at King’s Landing. Let’s hope Gendry can go on to wield some super-cool weapons with Valyrian steel.
The Winner
Arya and Nymeria
BIGGEST DUDS

The Contenders
Ed Sheeran: He came. He sang. He left. We still can’t figure out why that took up valuable screen time at a stage where we were counting down every single second.
Dorne: Not only did Ellaria and the Sand Snakes add zero value to Dany’s cause, they also failed to avenge Oberyn Martell’s death. With Obara and Nymeria killed by Euron Greyjoy’s army, Tyene poisoned by Cersei and Ellaria locked in a cell in King’s Landing, Dorne was a major disappointment this season. Also, what happened to their army?
The Winner
Ed Sheeran
BEST SEX

The Contenders
Missandei and Grey Worm: How? soon became Wow! when the two former slaves, who had been trained to shed their feelings, didn’t just have sex, but took us on an emotional roller-coaster. They didn’t just take off their clothes, but also their inhibitions and insecurities. It was beautiful and a much-needed switch from the violent and masculine form of sex shown on the show.

Dany and Jon: How do you beat the scene where two of the show’s physically as-close-to-flawless-as-possible human beings FINALLY make love? And then there was Jon Snow’s epic ass (in picture).
Cersei and Jaime: Jaime started out reluctant but Cersei was having none of it. Reluctance was soon followed by passionate lovemaking.
The Winner
Missandei and Grey Worm
