IIHM F&B fest

IIHM International Food & Drink Festival turns 16

Sixteen is a magic number. And as the annual IIHM International Food & Drink Festival, in association with t2, turned a sweet 16, over 3,000 people descended for the bash at Nicco Park Wet-o-Wild on December 19 and 20.

Third-year students of India’s largest hotel school chain organised every little detail of it — from food to entertainment. There were five cuisines to sample — Indian, Thai, Mexican, Jamaican and Hawaiian — and something for every age group. A special kids’ corner was made, where bite-sized portions were served to the young ones while Santa and Mickey Mouse kept them company.

The evenings saw dance performances specific to the regions where the food was from and a fashion show by the IIHM students kept the guests entertained.

“These festivals give our students ample opportunities and exposure to showcase their talents and skills by preparing an unending array of exotic and mouth-watering delicacies of various cuisines. Along with that, there’s top-class hospitality and exceptional event management under the adept scrutiny of the faculty,” said Sanjukta Bose, group director and co-founder, IIHM.

Actress Ankita Majumder joined Sanjukta Bose, group director and
co-founder, IIHM, and Suborno Bose, chairman and chief mentor, IIHM, to inaugurate the event. “This is one of the most important events in the curriculum of the students. They get a taste of reality in the process of organising this event,” said Suborno Bose.
