An actress coaxed out of hibernation, a Bollywood musician and a self-styled Bangla band came together on Monday to unveil the “soft and romantic” album that has been created for Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s film Antaheen, which hits the theatres on January 23.

Shantanu Moitra has composed music for six songs penned by Chandrabindoo members Anindyo and Chandril, which marks the non-resident Bengali’s Tollywood entry.

“I loved Shantanu’s music in Khoya Khoya Chand. I have a friend who had this track as a ring tone and I would call her just to listen to the song! And my Baba (Chidananda Dasgupta) is a great fan of Chandrabindoo. Konkona (Sensharma) had bought a Chandrabindoo CD for him, and he really liked the songs,” gushed Aparna Sen, who is returning to the screen nine years after Paromitar Ekdin. “I became a fan of Tony (Aniruddha) after watching Anuranan and that’s why I agreed to do Antaheen. I liked his execution,” she added.

Antaheen revolves around two couples and an aunt, also starring Sharmila Tagore, Rahul Bose, Kalyan Ray (Aparna’s husband) and newcomer Radhika Apte. It is Mumbai Mantra’s debut Tollywood production.
