Three Of The Six Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena Girls - Ashima Bhalla, Shama Sikander And Nigar Khan- Get Candid About Their Partners - Irfan Pathan, Vinod Kambli And Dinesh Karthik Utkarsha Mhatre (Bollywood News Service) Published 13.10.08, 12:00 AM

What happens when cricket meets the world of glamour? How was your experience?

Nigar: I had a total blast doing the show. There has never been a show that combines cricketers and actresses. It was very difficult for the cricketers to dance but I think that they worked really hard and that commitment has borne fruit.

Ashima: We had an amazing time making the series and I am very confident that the audience are having as much fun watching it. I cannot imagine the amount of hard work that cricketers invest into their game, but you can see a little glimpse of that when you see the way they prepared for the dance.

Shama: The whole experience has been thrilling and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We are lucky to have been chosen for this amazing show and to dance with people who are respected by the whole country. They’ve shocked us with their determination and will power.

You were not informed in advance about your partners. How did you get along with them?

Nigar: I was apprehensive about whom I’d have to dance with but once the pairs were announced I was relieved. I was paired with Dinesh Karthik. We share a great chemistry! We had loads of fun since we are quite alike. Dinesh is full of fun and life and his energy is contagious. I am very glad that I have a partner who I can relate to. We just concentrated on dance, talked about Bollywood, music but, funnily, never about cricket.

Ashima: Everyone was jealous that I had Irfan as my partner. So I’d say I was very lucky that I was paired with the most handsome of the lot! He is also humble and very down to earth. The one thing I noticed about him is his never-say-never attitude. We also had loads of fun together.

Shama: Vinod Kambli is a veteran and a married person, so I really don’t know if I was lucky or not! His experience in front of the camera was very evident.

And how would you assess your partners as dancers?

Nigar: Ask Dinesh to do anything and he will give it a go, well, just don’t ask him to jump and join his legs! As a wicket keeper, he’s so used to squatting that standing with feet joined is pretty alien to him by now! He has been very hard working and an excellent support!

Ashima: Irfan Pathan is a very good learner and is equally hard-working. Every bit of extra time he had, he would rehearse just to make sure he got it right. If the choreographer suggested a change in step to suit him, he’d say, ‘no, I’ll do it’ and he would.

Shama: Since Kambli has had experience in front of the camera, he was very confident dancing. The first time I saw him dance I was shocked! He danced like an actor. He was not just dancing but giving expressions like a star! That was the best thing about him!

Six men, six choices, so tell us whom did you find was the hottest, most good looking and the cutest?

Nigar: Can anyone be hotter than Wasim Akram! I’d say the most good looking person was Irfan Pathan and the cutest was Dinesh Karthik, Bhajji was the show-stealer, a full entertainer, and definitely not the guy we’ve heard about. He’s not sarphira but a true gentleman! Vinod is fun, Shreesanth, according to everyone, is not only a good dancer but also a great human being. Nikhil Chopra is very calm, but like they say there is calm before a storm; he was that element of our show!

Ashima: Mr Hot obviously was Wasim Akram, my partner Irfan was the hottest and Dinesh is the cutest and most adorable (Nigar chips in with ‘He’s my partner!’).

Shama: Wasim Akram was amazing, a through gentleman, the one who comes across as a real man. Whatever you are doing, you have to stop and have a look at him! He has this persona; an aura that draws you. Irfan Pathan was really nice and Dinesh was the cutest by far!
