Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage is set to star in Kenji Tanigaki’s upcoming action drama The Reckoner.
According to a report by Deadline, the film has been acquired by Lionsgate and will be produced by filmmaker duo Anthony and Joe Russo's AGBO banner.
The Reckoner marks the latest collaboration between Lionsgate and AGBO following their upcoming John Rambo, directed by Jalmari Helander and starring Noah Centineo.
Lionsgate Motion Picture Group president Erin Westerman praised Tanigaki’s filmmaking after the success of his latest directorial venture, The Furious. “The Furious showcases a singular filmmaking talent, and we're thrilled to reunite with our friends at AGBO to bring his bold vision for The Reckoner to audiences worldwide,” Westerman said.
Released earlier this year, The Furious follows Wang Wei, played by Xie Miao, whose daughter is kidnapped by a criminal syndicate.
He teams up with journalist Navin, portrayed by Joe Taslim, to rescue their loved ones. The film grossed over USD 31 million worldwide.
Dinklage is best known for his Emmy-winning portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones.
His film credits include The Station Agent, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Cyrano, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes and Wicked. He is currently filming Season 2 of Alien: Earth.
