The cast of Bhooter Bhabishyat — comprising Swastika Mukherjee, Sreelekha Mitra, Monami Ghosh, Mumtaz Sorcar, Bibhu Bhattacharya and George Baker — joined director Anik Datta and producer Joy Ganguly to talk about the film at The Wall on Saturday.

Bhooter Bhabishyat revolves around a bunch of ghosts who inhabit a dilapidated house which a promoter wants to raze and build a highrise. But the smart bhoots have some wacky plans up their sleeve!

“In my 10-year acting career, this is the first time I have played a bhoot in a film. I play a yesteryear actress who is a nyaka ghost. It was great fun!” laughed Swastika.

“I play a yuppie, bubbly bhoot. But none of us in the cast has seen the film yet,” said Mumtaz.

Sreelekha, who has a guest appearance in the film, feels Bhooter Bhabishyat would be a fun watch. “From the promos, it seems to be a laughathon.... I didn’t read the whole script because mine was a very small role,” she said.

“I have done an item number and it was hilarious. The film should be fun,” laughed Monami, looking pretty in a short skirt.

Debutant director Datta confided: “I was very nervous while shooting the film. But everyone has done very well.” Bhooter Bhabishyat is targeting an August-end release.
