Expect: A food festival to kickstart the new season with. There’s no counting the calories just now. Tuck into the cuisine of your choice at stalls put up by Mission Cafe, Madras Restaurant, Dakshin, Sharma Dhaba, Hindusthan Dhaba, Bong Connection, Tilottama, Makhan Lal Das & Sons, The Blue Poppy, Denzong Kitchen, Litti Chokha, Chauhan Victoria Vada, Agarwal’s Pav Bhaji, Marwar Junction and Suruchi Vegetarian Restaurant.
Organiser speak: “New Year celebrations are happening not only in Bengal but in other states as well. Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Bihar are some of them. So we thought we would include them all in this food festival,” said Ramesh Pandey, general manager, marketing and events, Ambuja Neotia Group.

Expect: To usher in the Bengali New Year on a melodious note, with tabla player Sabir Khan and sitarist Partha Bose on stage. Relish a festive menu that includes Fish Fry, Chicken Cutlet, Devilled Eggs, Luchi Aloo Dum and more.

Expect: An evening of good food, music and fun with Bengali songs by Doyel Goswami, and Movers Dance Troupe making sure you have a good time. DJ Sumit will churn out remixes of Bengali folk numbers and hit Bolly tracks. Wrap up the evening with an elaborate Bengali buffet that includes Aam Chilli Salad, Ankurit Salad, Machher Chop, Kanthal Chingri, Payesh and Rosogolla.
Organiser speak: “The event has been planned keeping in mind the tradition of Bengal as we start the evening with Rabindrasangeet, followed by Bengali folk songs and popular Bengali numbers. Expect: It’s time for some water fun at Swissotel once more! DJ Koushik will spin some chill beats, while some fun activities will also be lined up.
