Actress Jennifer Garner is against the idea of sharing her children’s pictures on social media and she has said she will never indulge in it. The 46-year-old, who shares three kids — Violet (12), Seraphina (nine) and Samuel (six) — with ex-husband Ben Affleck, said she fights for her family’s privacy as she wants to keep her children away from the Hollywood spotlight. “Well, I would never share my kids. That’s a pretty big roadblock right there... I’ve fought too hard for their privacy personally that it feels weird,” Garner told E! Online. She, however, admitted to love seeing photographs of other celebrities’ children on the Internet. Ahem!
British stars Colin Firth and Julie Walters have come aboard the cast of The Secret Garden to be produced by David Heyman, producer of the eight Harry Potter films and now the Fantastic Beasts films. The project is the film adaptation of the children’s classic of the same name, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Secret Garden was first published in 1911 and was authored by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The period setting from the book has been changed, moving from the Edwardian era to 1947, on the eve of Partition in India, and in the aftermath of World War II. It is set in England and follows Mary Lennox, a prickly and unloved 10-year-old girl, born in India to wealthy British parents who never wanted her. When her parents suddenly die, she is sent back to England to live with her uncle, Archibald Craven. Firth, 57, will play Craven, while Walters, 68, plays Mrs Medlock, the head housekeeper at Misselthwaite.
“Catwoman” Michelle Pfeiffer is set to join Angelina Jolie in the sequel to the 2014 film Maleficient. The 59-year-old actress will play a queen in the film, which centres on the Sleeping Beauty antagonist, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Pfeiffer joins another new entrant Ed Skrein, who will portray the antagonist in the sequel. Besides Jolie, Elle Fanning is set to return for the follow-up, which will be directed by Joachim Ronning. The plot details are yet to be disclosed and it is currently unclear if the sequel will pick up from where the original left off.
Fresh from the success of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Kartik Aaryan says he will announce his next project soon. There were rumours that the 29-year-old actor was teaming up with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Karan Johar for different films, and that he had been signed on by Yash Raj Films for a project. The actor said: “I think whatever films I do next, a proper announcement will be made soon. I will be sharing it soon. It will be announced at the right time.”
Jude Law and Carrie Coon will star in Sean Durkin’s psychological drama The Nest. Durkin, who is returning as director after seven years, has also penned the script, Variety reported. He last directed the 2011 cult drama Martha Marcy May Marlene, starring Elisabeth Olsen and Sarah Paulson. Law, 45, will play Rory, a British entrepreneur who brings his American wife (Coon) and children with him to England on the hunt for business opportunities. They aim to live beyond their means in a manor house. The isolation pushes the family further apart.
