Kerala’s meen pollichathu or Bihar’s litti-chokha, Gujarat’s shreekhand or Manipur’s tilhou kheer — last weekend belonged to delicacies from several regions of India, at City Centre Salt Lake.

The occasion was Flavours of India, presented by City Centre and t2, and the reason was the Salt Lake mall’s 11th anniversary bash.
A dozen stalls served up the sumptuous spread. Idli, dosa and other south Indian bites were offered by Pai’s Malgudi and Tamarind. Punjabi and other north Indian dishes were served up at Jai Hind Dhaba, Baluchi (The Lalit Great Eastern) and Paschima (Swabhumi). Gupta Brothers and Shree Calcutta Gujarati Samity dished out Rajasthani and Gujarati fare. Tribal cuisine was the focus at Santa’s Fantasea while Mughlai and Mumbai came alive at Lucknow and Goli Vada Pav. And some Bengali favourites were gobbled up at 6 Ballygunge Place and The Darjeeling.
