THE Park

@ Saffron

When: October 9-13; 12.30pm to 3.30pm and 7.30pm to 11.30pm

On the menu: The special a la carte menu is a treat for kebab, biryani and mishti lovers. Clove Smoked Tandoori Lobster, Awadhi Shahi Shikampuri Kebab and Hyderabadi Tala Gosht are some of the kebab specialities. There’s Calcutta-style Chicken Biryani with Masala Lachcha Salad and Moplah-style Mutton Biryani with Chettinad Pachadi.

@ Zen

When: October 9-13; 12.30pm to 3.30pm and 7.30pm to 11.30pm

On the menu: Some of the special Oriental dishes on the a la carte menu are Broccoli and Shiitake Mushroom in Yellow Bean Sauce, Chicken in Lemon Honey Sauce and the Indonesian fried rice — Nasi Goreng. To end your meal, choose from Crunchy Fruits and Sticky Rice Dumpling with Coconut Ice Cream.

@ The Bridge

When: October 9-13; 12.30pm to 3.30pm and 7.30pm to 11.30pm

On the menu: For starters there will be Prawn Papdi Chaat, Chingri Jhaalmuri and Gosht Resha ki Katori Chaat. The buffet spread offers Australian Lamb Shanks, Pan Fried Gnochhi with Burnt Thyme Butter Sauce, Canadian Scallops Cocktail and Jhargramer Dimer Jhaal with Luchi.

Pocket pinch: Rs 2,000-plus for two (a la carte), Rs 3,000-plus for two (buffet).

@ The Street

When: October 9-13; noon to midnight

On the menu: Yummy Calcutta street food like Hinger Kochuri ar Kosha Aloor Tarkari, Keema Mughlai Porota with Kosha Aloo and Bekti Maachher Kabiraji.

Pocket pinch: Rs 600-plus for two (a la carte).

Taj Bengal

Sharodia Bhoj @ Sonargaon

When: October 10-14, 12.30pm to 2.30pm and 7.30pm to 11.30pm

On the menu: A traditional Bangali bhuribhoj with three Puja-special thalis — Niramish (veg), Amish (non-veg) and Seafood.

The items common to all the thalis are Gandharaj Ghol, Vegetable Chop, Phoolkopi Koraisutir Torkari, Bhaja Moong Dal, Ghee Bhaat, Luchi, Doodh Rosogolla, Mishti Doi and Sandesh.

There will be a separate seafood a la carte menu as well for those who love dry kebab-like preparations. Think Chilean Sea Bass, Smoked Salmon, Salmon Tikka and Soft Silk Crabs.

Pocket pinch: Rs 2,550-plus per person for the Amish and Seafood Thali; Rs 1,950-plus for Niramish Thali.

@ Souk

When: October 10-11, 7.30pm to midnight; October 12-13, 12.30pm to 3pm

On the menu: A Middle-Eastern buffet with “unlimited select alcoholic beverages” like Kettle One Vodka, beer and mocktails. Expect Hummus, Kibbe (cracked wheat in lamb casings with minced lamb and pine nuts), Falafel, Kolokithi (crispy zucchini, yellow squash and eggplant chip with garlic yogurt), cold and hot Mezze, Sheesh Taouk and Baklava.

Pocket pinch: Rs 1,850-plus per person.

@ The Hub

When: October 10-14 (24 hours)

On the menu: An elaborate spread of continental and Indian food, including some Bengali favourites. There will be a special Navami Brunch (12.30pm to 3pm) priced at Rs 2,700-plus per person and a Dashami Delight buffet (12.30pm to 3pm) priced atRs 2,000-plus per person.

Puja Special Menu @ La Terrasse

When: October 11-14, 12.30pm to 3pm and 7.30pm to 11pm

On the menu: Start with a glass of Aam Panna, Ghol or Lebu’r Sherbet while munching on Chicken Kabiraji Cutlet, Prawn Kabiraji and Vegetable Chop. The fish spread includes Sorshe Bekti, Topshe Maachh Batter Fry, Ilish Maachh Bhapa, Lau Diye Chingri and Cheetal Maachher Pety. Try Kosha Mangsho, Mangshor Jhol and Kosha Murghi with Biryani and Chingri Pulao. Malai Chamcham, Bhapa Sandesh, Kalakand and Chanar Jilipi make up the dessert section.

Puja Special Buffet @ Waterside Cafe

When: October 11-14, noon to 3pm, 7pm to 11pm and 12.30am to 2.30am (midnight buffet)

On the menu: An extensive buffet which brings together Calcutta savouries like Kathi Roll (veg and non-veg), Mughlai Paratha along with Anglo-Indian and Continental dishes like Prawn Cocktail, Fish ’’ Chips, Steak and Kidney Pie, Vegetable Au Gratin, Baked Macaroni, Chicken a la Kiev, Chicken Stroganoff and Chicken Tetrazzini.

North West Frontier @ Peshawri

On the menu: The Indian buffet includes everything from Murgh Badam Shorba (saffron-flavoured almond and chicken broth) and Mangsher Chop (lamb mince with Bengali spices, crumbed and deep-fried) to Narkel Diye Murgir Kebab (chargrilled chicken marinated in freshly ground coconut), a must-try for kebab lovers.

Meal for two: Rs 2,000-plus (without alcohol) and Rs 2,400-plus (with alcohol).

@ Cafe Swiss

When: October 10-15; 12.30pm to 4pm

On the menu: The buffet spread offers Basanti Pulao, Pabda Jhaal, Kosha Mangsho, Chhanar Chop and more, rounded up with Patishapta and assorted sandesh. A Navami brunch is also in store on October 13.

On the menu: The buffet spread combines traditional dishes from East and West Bengal. Pick from Chandpurer Shorisha Ilish, Jessore Narkeli Chingri, Kakra Do-Piyaja, Dhakaiya Murgir Curry, Bikrampurer Kaach Kolar Dum, Hasher Mangsho Bhuna and Bokshi Bazarer Mutton Rezala. Vegetarians can go for dishes like Kalmi Shaak Bhaji, Dal Hindustani and Aloo Potoler Dum among others. The desserts include Jafrani Jurda, Nababi Reshmi Jilapi and Mishti Doi. There is unlimited Tuborg beer to wash it all down.

On the menu: Global flavours like Prawn Joshina, Tai Chin Chicken, Chicken Takrai, Singaporean Crab, Honey Glazed Pork Chops and Roast Chicken with Red Wine Jus. The dessert section is a treasure trove, what with Fresh Fruit Gateaux, Chocolate Grand Truffle Cake, Kahlua Mousse In Glass, Tofu And Lemon Cheesecake, Mascarpone Tiramisu and Kiwi Parfait.
