Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran played cricket with Team India batter Shubman Gill and comedian Tanmay Bhat before indulging in pani puri and lassi for the first time during his visit to India for The Mathematics Tour, shows a video he shared on social media.

“Played cricket and had a chat with @shubmangill and @tanmaybhat when I was over in India, had a blast. They cut out the footage of me bowling badly. The video kicks off with the Perfect singer bowling and Shubman batting. It then shows Sheeran enjoying Indian street food like sabudana vada, golgappas and lassi with Shubman and Tanmay. During a conversation at a restaurant, Shubman, who is currently the captain of Gujarat Titans, jokingly approached Sheeran to ask Shah Rukh Khan why his IPL team KKR did not retain him after playing four seasons with them. This left the trio in splits.

“When was the last time you did something embarrassing on stage?” Tanmay asks Sheeran, who recalls the time he fell over on stage during a performance. After showcasing some highlights of their cricket match, the video ends with Sheeran saying, “India is my biggest market.”

During his stay in India, Sheeran met Bollywood celebrities Shah Rukh Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Farah Khan Kunder, newlyweds Rakul Preet and Jackky Bhagnani and Arman Malik. He also visited a school in Mumbai where he interacted with students and sang his 2017 hit song Shape of You.

Sheeran performed in Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Race Course on March 16 as part of his ‘+ - = ÷ x Tour’, also called The Mathematics Tour.

The ongoing ‘+ - = ÷ x Tour’ is Sheeran’s fourth tour. Spanning across three continents with 89 shows, the tour started on April 23, 2022 in Dublin, Ireland, and is scheduled to end on September 8 in Larnaca, Cyprus.
