FOUR ACTRESSES ON TAKING UP NEW HOUSES . Published 20.05.11, 12:00 AM

Aparajita Ghosh Das

We (she and actor Ritwick Bhattacharya got married recently) shifted to a flat in Gangulybagan in March. It’s a three-bedroom, open kitchen apartment with an open space for my plants. I’ve always wanted to have a mini garden at home and it’s wonderful to have one in my new den! I have bonsai of various trees. It’s such a satisfying experience.... And then we have a black room. Everything in the room is black, even the walls are painted black! I have a mini home theatre there and loads of DVDs. I watch films there. (Aparajita lived with her parents in Tollygunge before.)

Swastika Mukherjee

It’s good to invest in property and, besides, I wanted a home of my own, a space for my daughter (Anwesha) and me. I bought a four-bedroom flat on NSC Bose Road (Ranikuthi) last year. It’s going to be an office-cum-residence. There will be a small office area in the flat where I will meet people and discuss work. I have long dreamt of a space like this. The interiors are being done currently and I am doing it by myself. From the tiles to the toilets, everything is my idea. I plan to move in next year. (Swastika presently lives with her parents in Golf Garden.)

Locket Chatterjee

I have always dreamt of a home of my own, a place where I can wake up to the chirping of birds and have a small backyard garden. So, I invested in a duplex in Narendrapur two years back. I moved in in April from my flat in Patuli. It’s a sprawling apartment with three bedrooms, kitchen, a living room, a bar corner, a study room and a garden in the backyard!

Sreelekha Mitra

I had bought a three-bedroom flat in Garia a few years back and I started living there on and off. I wanted to make an investment at that time and decided to buy a flat with the thought that I would later sell it off at a higher price. But then I liked it so much that I decided not to sell it. I got the interiors done. Now it has become my weekend getaway. There’s a small swimming pool in the complex where my daughter sometimes takes a dip. She loves the place. I also throw parties there. My friends come over for tea and coffee... So it’s basically a home away from home. The place is less noisy and less crowded than my apartment in Dhakuria.
