BEING ON JHALAK 

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (JDJ) 9 will be a great platform to showcase my talent. Finally, there will be a contestant who can represent the youth shows on TV. Being a dancer, there is a lot of pressure on me, as people will expect me to perform well. It’s a challenge, but it will be fun. Alisha Singh (Dance India Dance fame) is my choreographer. Of the judges, I am looking forward to showing off my moves to Jacqueline Fernandez; Ganesh Hegde is the ultimate performer; and I am keen to know what Karan Johar thinks of me as a dancer!

INSPIRATION

Michael Jackson. Like everybody else, I have been following him ever since I can remember. It’s amazing to see how he performed and to feel the vibe he generated. Whether it’s on stage or off it, I loved MJ’s personality. 
Also, my mother (Sandhya) is my inspiration. She’s the one for whom I started dancing as a kid. 

NIGHTLY DANCE ROUTINE

I have been dancing a lot these days with Desi Hoppers (his dance troupe) and also rehearsing for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. After the daily 12-hour-long Girls on Top (MTV) shoot, I rehearse at night, mainly, between 10pm and 1am. My sleep cycle is going topsy-turvy!

Let’s nacho (Kapoor & Sons). It’s such a peppy number that I can’t stop dancing. Recently, we danced to this track at the Girls on Top party.

Pehla nasha (Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander) is one of my fave romantic numbers. 

PARTY DANCE TRACK

Sukhbir’s Ishq tera tadpave. My friends and I can’t sit still whenever we hear it. 

INTERNATIONAL PERFORMER HE WILL PAY TO WATCH

Daniel ‘Cloud’ Campos (a Los Angeles-based dancer and director, who had featured in Shakira’s Did It Again). I follow him on YouTube. I find him very creative. He was also in Step Up 3D (2010). 

DREAM DANCE PARTNERS

I wish to dance to a fast track from a south Indian film  with Prabhu Deva Sir. It’s always been my dream to dance with him, live. Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha are very entertaining to watch. It shows in their facial expressions that they enjoy dancing. Kuch bhi gaana chalega!
