Netflix recently released an exclusive clip of a much-anticipated action thriller The Gray Man, starring Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling and Indian actor Dhanush among other big names.

Based on Mark Greaney's 2009 novel of the same name, the film is helmed by Avengers: Endgame director duo Joe and Anthony Russo. Joe co-wrote the script of the movie with fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe collaborators, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

The movie features an A-list cast that includes Billy Bob Thornton, Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Regé-Jean Page, Julia Butters, Alfre Woodard, Michael Gandolfini and DeObia Oparei. South Indian actor Dhanush, known for his work in Bollywood films like Raanjhanaa (2013) and the Atrangi Re (2021), is playing an important character in the action thriller.

As part of its Geeked Week celebration, Netflix has released an exclusive clip from The Gray Man with just over a month until it premieres.

In the 2-minute clip, Court Gentry, played by Ryan Gosling, is seen fighting a group of thugs as he makes his way up a flight of stairs. Soon after he beats a handful of men in an action-packed encounter, Chris Evans' character Lloyd Hansen appears and fights Gentry valiantly. Gentry detonates an explosive to escape Lloyd's stronghold, forcing the two to flee. Later, Ana de Armas appears behind Lloyd and saves Gentry by releasing a tranquiliser that puts the evil guy to sleep immediately. Check out the thrilling clip below:

In the film, Gosling plays a CIA operative who discovers dark agency secrets, earning him a mark on his back. Gosling's character is compelled to seek help from his handler Donald Fitzroy and Agent Dani Miranda when psychotic former CIA agent Lloyd Hansen embarks on a worldwide manhunt for the Gray Man.

The film, which is being produced by the Russo Brothers' AGBO, aims to launch a series based on Greaney's Gray Man novels. It is Netflix's most expensive film till date, with a production budget of $200 million.

The Gray Man is set for a limited theatrical release on July 15, followed by its release on Netflix on July 22, 2022.
