THROWBACK TOY STORY

Toy Story Land is officially opening on June 30, 2018, in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and we are taking a trip down memory lane — to the time when Toy Story was our favourite movie. Toy Story Land will have a variety of rides to choose from and we would love to take a spin on the Alien Swirling Saucer and the Slinky Dog Dash. No need to worry for our tummies as Woody’s Lunch Box is there to serve tasty meals! If only we had a Toy Story Land in Calcutta. *sob*

THREE FUNNYMEN & A WEDDING

Gursimran Khamba of All India Bakchod (AIB) is getting married to Ismeet Kohli, and while we wish the newly-weds well, we have to admit that we’re heartbroken! The ceremony (with its hashtag #KoKiKhamba) was trending on the day of their mehndi ceremony, probably because of the incredible Instagram stories shared by Tanmay Bhat and Rohan Joshi who COULD NOT KEEP CALM about their friend’s wedding! They also emceed the Sangeet ceremony. Raising the bar for #FriendshipGoals, we say.

RHYTHM DIVINE

Snoop Dogg dropped his new mixtape 220 and we are listening to it on loop! Meanwhile, Zayn Malik’s cryptic Instagram posts featuring snippets of his new song have got us super excited.

YOUNG OLYMPIANS MAKING MILLENNIALS PROUD

A new generation of millennial athletes have come to the spotlight, courtesy the Winter Olympic Games held in Pyeongchang, South Korea, and we couldn’t be prouder of them. One of them is Adam Rippon, the 28-year-old bronze medallist with a golden personality from the US who, with his podium finish in figure skating, became the first ever openly gay athlete from the States to win a Winter Olympic medal.

Californian snowboarder Chloe Kim, 17, became the youngest woman EVER to win a snowboarding medal at the Winter Olympics with her gold, while her constant pizza-and-ice cream tweets in between competing were probably the most #relatable commentary from the entire games. Then there was snowboarder Red Gerard, the 17-year-old who slept through his alarm on the morning of his event after a Brooklyn Nine-Nine binge on Netflix and then immediately won a gold medal the same day, accidentally dropping the F-bomb on air while celebrating his win. What an amazing bunch!

MONKEY OFF MESSI’S BACK

We had a mixed bag of results in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 as the first leg wrapped up last week. Lionel Messi finally scored against Chelsea to give Barca a crucial away goal in a 1-1 draw, while Manchester United’s fixture against Sevilla also ended in a stalemate, this one goalless. Bayern Munich thumped Besiktas 5-0 thanks to a brace each from Thomas Mueller and Robert Lewandowski, and Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk bounced back from a goal down to defeat AS Roma 2-1. After an exciting first leg, we just can’t wait for the second leg in March!

THE PAPADWALA

Biopics being the choice of the hour, Hrithik Roshan plays mathematician Anand Kumar who taught underprivileged kids for free, in the upcoming film Super 30. And if the buzz and the leaked images from the set are anything to go by, Hrithik has changed his physique to fit the bill. The leaked image shows him selling papad, wearing a gamchha, and
we are so excited about his de-glam look!

IT’S ALL ABOUT CHEATING

Our social media feed is filled with jokes and jibes on the Punjab National Bank fraud involving diamond merchant Nirav Modi and the one doing the most rounds says that there is no point in taking a loan of 30k when you can just embezzle and take residence in Europe. However, it was Zomato that took the proverbial cake through their ad claiming “PNB” to be Parathas ’N Butter, coz every day is cheat day!

GENDER SWAP

The latest feature of gender swapping is trending on Facebook. It morphs one’s face and shows how you would look like as your opposite gender. It’s flooding our timelines and we can’t be more irritated. Well, we just got to unfollow our friends for a while.

PS: People should really get a hobby.

WHAT’S WITH THE LOGO?

Doctor Who fans, rejoice! Not only has the series got a much-needed female lead, a new set of companions and a revamped Tardis but also a brand-new logo, which was debuted in a new poster and we can’t help wonder what it is about — a timeline? A shooting star? The trail of the Tardis itself? A more aggressive Doctor, perhaps? But it certainly looks badass! #WelcomeBackDoctor

TIME’S REALLY UP

Emma Watson brought the Time’s Up movement to Britain and we are proud of her for donating a whopping 1.4 million dollars to the UK Justice and Equality fund, which was created as part of the anti-discrimination battle. It was announced in an open letter by 200 British and Irish actresses like Emma Thompson, Keira Knightley, Emilia Clarke, Carey Mulligan and Jodie Whittaker. #WowWoman

#NEVERAGAIN

After the devastating mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, the student survivors started the Never Again movement asking for stricter background checks on citizens buying guns so that a similar unfortunate event does not happen ever again. Tweeple joined the movement with #NeverAgain and we the campus students stand in full solidarity with them. #NeverAgain
