STAR GUESTS AT THE SWEETEST WEDDING IN THE CITY Published 13.02.13, 12:00 AM

The grand wedding had a surprise guest on Friday when Mithun Chakraborty came over to bless Mishti and Cadbury for their unique wedding. He tasted the Cadbury Mishtis at ITC Sonar and sought everyone’s blessings for the new couple. “There couldn’t have been a better wedding than this for food-loving Calcuttans to celebrate. I would like Cadbury to be a gharjamai so that our daughter Mishti doesn’t have to go far away. I too have a girl and I know it’s difficult for parents to stay without their daughters,” added Mithunda. To give your blessings to the happy couple, dial 08067006622 (toll-free).

When it comes to the season’s biggest wedding, expectations are sky-high. So is the topor at the Mishti-Cadbury nuptials that the whole of Calcutta has been enjoying for the past few weeks. You can check out bideshi jamai, Cadbury’s 24ft-tall topor (near INOX) at City Centre, Salt Lake, and give your blessings (votes) to the newly weds! When actress June dropped in at City Centre to bless the couple and inaugurate the topor on Thursday, Mishti’s Pishi Koneenica Banerjee and Bhai Shaheb Bhattacherjee greeted her with Cadbury Mishtis from Mouchak, Felu Modak, Ganguram and Balaram Mullick & Radharaman Mullick. “I am very happy that Mishti has got this tall, dark and handsome groom who seems to have emerged out of Mills & Boon,” said June.

“Since Mishti is married, now it’s our responsibility to make sure Shaheb gets a bride too. So Konee and I will go around City Centre with binoculars to look for a bride for him,” she laughed, between bites of the sweet delicacies.
