The film also stars Nawazuddin and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.

Tamannaah, 29, said: “I’m looking forward to be a part of this project. The script fits in beautifully with the narrative. This will be the very first time I will be attempting such a multi-layered character in a mainstream Bollywood film. What really caught my attention was the storyline of the film which is a relevant and prevalent issue that grips society at large even today.”

Nawaz added: “I’m happy and satisfied with this casting and looking forward to work with Tamannaah. I feel she is the correct and the perfect choice for this role.”

The film is being produced by Rajesh Bhatia and Kiran Bhatia.

Ever since the film was announced, the buzz has been who will Nawaz romance?

Director Shamas said: “Tamannaah has that spark in her eyes and dedication which I was looking for in my heroine.”

Kiran Bhatia added: “Tamannaah fits the character like a glove. It is the most perfect casting and we are so excited to have her on board.”

Rajesh said the team was immediately starting shoot on the project and called the lead pairing “perfect”.
