The trailer of Hoichoi’s upcoming comedy-drama Dugdugi dropped recently, and the lead cast and crew of the show got together to celebrate the positive response at The Bhawanipore House.

The trailer opens with a scene depicting Abanish’s boss berating him for missing a deadline, and issuing a warning. Abanish engages in an extramarital affair, where the woman also confronts him, urging him to choose between her and his wife. One morning Abanish wakes up to discover his wife is missing, prompting him to embark on a desperate search that yields no results. Overwhelmed by panic, he puts up a facade, pretending that everything is fine. Only after receiving encouragement from his colleagues does he gather the courage to file a missing report at the police station.

Sharing his experience of working in Dugdugi, Anirban Chakrabarti said: “I was particularly drawn to the character of Abanish and the story. Ullas Mallick’s masterful crafting of the plot truly impressed me. Portraying Abanish required significant preparation as it’s a character unlike any I have played before. What adds to the intrigue is that this appearance is entirely new to me. I am hopeful that the audience will embrace Abanish and bestow upon him the same love they showed for Eken.”

“After reading Ullash Mallick’s story, Dugdugi, I was inspired to create a visual depiction of it. Anirban Chakrabarti was the first person I thought of to portray the character Abanish, as I believe he is the perfect fit for the role. The rest of the cast, including Biswanath and others, have also delivered exceptional performances. I assure the audience that they will thoroughly enjoy watching Dugdugi,” said director Joydeep Mukherjee.

Dugdugi streams exclusively on Hoichoi from July 28.
