For many, a shopping spree at New Market is incomplete without a meal at Aminia. The restaurant, known for its kebabs, biryani and tandoori spread, now has six outlets across the city — the sixth one being in Garia, which was unveiled by Tolly girl Nusrat Jahan on Saturday.

“Being brought up in a Muslim family, I love biryani and all sorts of Mughlai food. I cook biryani too. My favourite is the Mutton Biryani from Aminia,” said Nusrat, with Sidhu from Cactus, at the opening. Pictures: Arnab Mondal |
The two-storeyed building at 130E Raja SC Mullick Road (near No. 6 bus-stand) has a takeaway counter on the ground floor and a 70-seater restaurant on the first floor. What’s new on the menu? “We have introduced a few items which are not on every Aminia menu, such as Mutton Khara Masala, Afghani Chicken Tandoori, Dhania Chicken Kebab and Chicken Kali Mirch Kebab,” said proprietor Nadim Amin. A few Chinese items have been included as well, like Fried Rice, Chilli Chicken, noodles, and fish and prawn preparations. At the takeaway counter, you’ll also find egg, chicken and mutton rolls.
