Alia Bhatt spearheads a murder investigation in the middle of a forest in a new awareness video for the upcoming Prime Video crime series Poacher, dropped by the makers on Monday.

“I spent less than a day in the jungle to shoot this awareness video, but it still gave me chills. Murder is Murder…and I can’t wait for you to see the full story through the eyes of #RichieMehta and our stellar cast,” the Darlings actress, who is the executive producer for the show, wrote on Instagram along with the video.

The crime series, scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on February 23, explores illegal ivory poaching trade in India.

The teaser opens in an eerie forest where Alia, playing the role of a determined investigator, comes across a crime scene that sends shivers down her spine. The discovery of a loaded rifle, spent bullet casings, and the haunting outline of a lifeless body shocks Alia's character, creating an instant sense of horror.

Alia takes on the role of executive producer for Poacher, a project helmed by acclaimed director Richie Mehta, known for his work on the Emmy Award-winning Netflix series Delhi Crime. Apart from Alia, the show boasts a stellar cast including Roshan Mathew, Nimisha Sajayan, Dibyendhu Bhattacharya and Kani Kusruti.

Poacher is produced by QC Entertainment, Suitable Pictures, Poor Man’s Productions, and Eternal Sunshine Productions. Johan Aidt takes charge of the cinematography, while Andrew Lockington has composed the music for the show.
