Akshay Kumar and Yami Gautam-starrer OMG 2 is all set to hit cinemas on August 11, clashing with Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2: The Katha Continues and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal at the box office.

"Aa rahe hai hum, aaiyega aap bhi. 11th August. In theatres. #OMG2," Akshay wrote on Twitter on Friday, sharing a fresh poster of the sequel to his 2012 hit, OMG: Oh My God!

Yami also shared the same poster on Twitter and wrote, "The date is locked! #OMG2 releasing in theatres on August 11, 2023. See you there!"

Apart from Akshay and Yami, OMG 2 also features Pankaj Tripathi and Arun Govil in key roles. The first instalment of the film, headlined by Akshay and Paresh Rawal, was directed by Amit Rai.

Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, directed by Anil Sharma, is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel will reprise their roles as Tara Singh and Sakina, respectively, in the action-packed movie. Ranbir’s Animal is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri and Bobby Deol in important roles.

Meanwhile, Birsa Dasgupta’s Byomkesh O Durgo Rohoshyo, which features Dev as the iconic sleuth Byomkesh Bakshi, has also locked August 11 as the release date. “On the auspicious occasion of Rabindra Jayanti, here’s a sneak peek of your beloved Ajit and Byomkesh. If everything goes according to plan, then we hope to see you in theatres on August 11, 2023,” Dev had tweeted in May.

That is not all. Rajinikanth-strarrer Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, will be releasing on August 10, a day before the aforementioned films hit theatres.
