Aishwarya Rai Bachchan celebrated her mum Vrinda Rai’s birthday with daughter Aaradhya and other close friends and family members, show pictures shared by the 50-year-old actress on Instagram on Friday. Aishwarya’s husband Abhishek Bachchan, however, did not feature in the photos.

“Love you Birthday girl, dearest Mommy-Doddaaa,” Aishwarya captioned the photos, which featured the three generations of women together. She held a picture of her late father Krishnaraj Rai, who passed away on March 18, 2017, in one of the photos.

Aishwarya and Aaradhya twinned in black outfits for the celebration. The actress wore a bold red lipstick, left her hair down and completed her look with winged eyeliner. Her arm cast, a result of a recent injury, was also visible in the pictures.

Aishwarya also shared a picture of her mother sitting at a table decorated with birthday cakes, flowers, balloons and a picture of her father. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAREST DARLING OMMYYY-DODDAAALOVE YOU ETERNALLY,” wrote the actress alongside the picture.

Recently, Aishwarya made two red-carpet appearances in Falguni Shane Peacock ensembles at the ongoing 77th Cannes Film Festival in Southern France. For her first appearance, she wore a black-and-white corseted gown with gold accents and a dramatic train. Her second look was an embellished double-shaded column gown adorned with massive silver-and-turquoise fringes. A floor-sweeping train added a touch of drama to the stunning outfit.

On the work front, Aishwarya was last seen in Ponniyin Selvan: II (2023), receiving accolades from fans for her portrayal of Chola queen Nandini.
