With less than two weeks to go for the 96th Oscars, the final voting for the prestigious Academy Awards ended earlier today.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, currently comprising over 10,000 members, is responsible for selecting Oscar nominees and winners. Members vote within their respective branches, such as actors voting for actors, to determine the nominees. However, all members can participate in voting for the best picture category.

Voting for both nominations and final selections is carried out using online ballots. During the final round of voting, all categories are open for members to cast their votes. Following the conclusion of voting, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) tabulates the ballots.

Television presenter Jimmy Kimmel will host the upcoming awards show. This is Kimmel’s fourth stint as Oscars host.

The nominations for the 95th Academy Awards were announced on January 23. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer has secured the maximum number of nominations this year, securing an impressive 13 nods, including best picture and best director. Trailing closely behind are Poor Things and Killers of the Flower Moon, with 11 and 10 nominations respectively.
