“Winter is the time for grills and barbecues and an open-air venue makes it so much better. The sauces and spices we are using make our grills special,” said executive chef Amlan Bose. Think the super hot Bhut Jolokia sauce, infused with chipotle-Adobado (a Mexican marinade) mushroom sauce or the mango jalapeno dipping sauce.
GRILLED KING PRAWN WITH CHIPOTLE: The prawns are marinated with spicy chipotle and Adobado and grilled. Thai green curry is poured over and it’s served with crispy beaten rice. The result? A fusion starter that’s hot with a mild sweetness from the Thai curry.

GRILLED LAMB SOUVLAKI: Trust The Astor when it comes to grills. If you love your meat, then this classic Greek delicacy packs in a lot of it. The lamb legs are marinated for hours with herbs and spices and then coated with lemon juice, thyme and garlic. They are grilled on a charcoal barbecue that lends a smoky flavour while retaining the juicy texture. A portion comes with five pieces. Rs 595
BABY EGGPLANT FILLED WITH CHEESE AND NUTS: Sweet baby eggplant is cut in halves and scooped out. Feta and cottage cheese, blended with Malacca spice and walnut, is used as stuffing and grilled. The eggplant is smeared with arrabbiata sauce that adds a tangy flavour. Have it with herbed rice and mashed potatoes and let the tangy flavours burst in your mouth! Rs 395
PRUNE FILLED CHICKEN BREAST: This barbecued Continental item consists of chicken breast stuffed with chopped prunes, water chestnuts and greens. The honey-chilli curry cream poured on top adds a sweet taste and a mild spicy aftertaste. The chicken pieces are served on a bed of mashed potatoes. Rs 575
