Serafina at Quest mall was a happy melange of jewellery lovers and styling and fashion enthusiasts, when YFLO organised a styling masterclass by jewellery brand Isharya on August 7. Gauri Tandon, the co-founder of Isharya, shared her story of forming a successful brand and having a clientele including celebrities from Hollywood to Bollywood, while in conversation with model and influencer Saachi Bhasin, before the masterclass. The conversation was followed by a styling masterclass by Gauri and Nisha Khiani, PR and marketing manager of Isharya. Nisha showed the audience how to accessorise different dresses and glam up various looks, from an off-shoulder dress to a simple kurta. The audience were also given tips on which aspect of the body they should highlight — the hair or the waist, the hand or the ears.

“Be true to yourself and the design — that is what we believe in. We follow global trends but at the same time, we Isharya-fy it always. We have been very fortunate that we have various celebrities from Bollywood and Hollywood like Jennifer Lopez and Oprah Winfrey wearing our jewellery. We have used a reverse sort of a strategy, we started selling in the US before we started selling in India. So for us, it was always about timing. At Isharya, we always say that we are Indian-inspired but are obviously influenced by global trends because we want to make it globally acceptable,” said Gauri Tandon, co-founder of Isharya.

Nisha Khiani, PR and marketing manager of Isharya, helped the visitors choose the right piece for themselves from the Isharya stall outside Serafina. The stall displayed a wide range of jewellery like bangles, earrings, cuffs, neckpieces, earrings and hair accessories.

“It was inspiring to hear Gauri speak of her creative entrepreneurial journey with Isharya. It’s great to see how true they remain to their brand and design identity. Members enjoyed the styling tips at the masterclass that followed,” said Amrita Kajaria, chairperson, YFLO.

“I love Isharya because of the versatility of their jewellery, which looks great with both Indian and western wear. Their story is so inspiring. I think the styling workshop was great, which showed us how we should focus on one key piece instead of over-accessorising,” said Soni Jain, YFLO committee member.

“It was a fun workshop and it was really enlightening to know about how Isharya started and grew over the years. I loved their jewellery, especially because they go with Indian outfits as well as dresses and are perfect for destination weddings. They look super gorgeous and trendy,” said Riya Osatwal, who works as a graphic designer.
