Rajdeep Ranawat came down from Delhi to showcase his ‘Sayuri’ collection that drew inspiration from Memoirs of a Geisha, at Playfest presented by Chivas glassware in association with The Telegraph. Lots of prints was the highlight of the range that was sent out at JW Marriott Kolkata’s Gold. The flowy separates and drapes had a resort-cool vibe, ideal picks for that holiday by the sea. The lehnga skirts were for the fun bride, ready to dance at her wedding.

Nehha Nhata from Calcutta opened Playfest. The designer showcased ensembles apt for summer mornings and evenings. Actress Ushasi Ray looked pretty in a white lehnga.

Ushoshi Sengupta, who was back with her passion project Playfest after two years, was striking in a Rajdeep Ranawat flowy fusion piece. “What an absolute moment of joy to see everyone back together. The hustle of backstage and the adrenaline rush of having a physical show again felt special. This year’s highlight had to be Rajdeep’s collection and of course having Ashwal Rai and Ushasi Ray with us on stage. Looking forward to a bigger, grander and more power-packed collaborator for next year!” smiled the Miss Universe India 2010.

The third edition had JW Marriott Kolkata and Avama Jewellers among the collaborators.

Kolkata Thunderbolts “star” Ashwal Rai walked in an ivory Nehha Nhata kurta and pants to loud applause.

JW Marriott Kolkata general manager Sumeet Suri and wife Roma walked in Nehha’s occasion wear too.

We couldn’t take our eyes off Nabanita Sarkar’s statement neckpiece. She was part of Driftwood, the band that performed at the event.
