Memory matters

Memory matters

IT/IIM types, look in the mirror and ask yourselves: are you a Grand Master of Memory? You are if you can memorise the following: 1000 digits or the order of 10 shuffled decks of playing cards (in under an hour each) and one shuffled deck in less than two minutes. Not yet? That?s ok, there are just 36 GMs of Memory in the world. Predictably, the Americans seek world domination, and have Indian support. This year?s US Memory Championship, a gruelling affair involving faces, cards and poems, was held recently and won by Ram Kolli, a 24-year-old business analyst from Richmond. He travels to Europe soon to take on the GMs in the world tournament. Wish him luck! If you remember, that is.

Former Spice Girl Emma Bunton is set to be a Bollywood star. After swapping places with Sameera Reddy for a BBC documentary last year, Bunton wowed Bollywood bosses with her cameo in Pal Tham Gaya. She?s been offered $1.9 million for her next venture later this year.
