New Delhi: Baba Ramdev-led Patanjali Ayurved on Tuesday announced tie-ups with major e-commerce players, including Amazon and Flipkart, to sell its products in a bid to expand its sales and become a Rs 1-lakh-crore brand in the next three years.

The Haridwar-based company also plans to get into new categories, focus on exports and improve its supply chain in the coming years.

For its online foray, Patanjali has partnered eight players, which also include Grofers, Shopclues, BigBasket, 1mg, Paytm Mall and Netmeds, through which its entire range of products will now be available online.

"Online mechanism aims to provide convenient and efficient options along with the extension of the traditional retail market," Baba Ramdev said.

Besides, Patanjali said, it will expand into new product segments such as bottled water through a new brand "Divya Jal" later this month.

According to Ramdev, Patanjali Paridhan is working on the back-end of the textiles section. "May be during Diwali this year or by January 2019 we will be launching this which will boast of 3000 products, including jeans. Kids wear, yoga wear, sportswear and even accessories will be available here."

"We are targeting sales of over Rs 1,000 crore this year and would try to double it by next year...we have just started now...the demand in online sales was reflected as we crossed Rs 10 crore during December itself, the highest online sales by any FMCG brand in a month," he said.

The firm had started the trial of online sales of its Swadeshi range of products through its platform www.patanjaliayurved.net last month and got encouraging results, Ramdev said.

"Since almost all our products are priced way below our competitors, we have agreed collectively that there will be no discounts on Patanjali products. The products will be available at full price on all leading websites," Acharya Balkrishna, CEO of Patanjali, said.

Baba Ramdev, however, made it clear that Patanjali will never collaborate or get into a partnership with any foreign company.
