Calcutta: Aero Club, the maker and retailer of the Woodland brand of footwear and apparel aims to reach the Rs 2,000-crore top line over the next three years, aided by diversification and network expansion.
Harkirat Singh, managing director, Aero Club, said with a total business of around Rs 1,200 crore, the company is growing at 15 per cent every year.
"We have a network of 600 stores and adding 30-40 new stores every year. The e-commerce channel is also growing constituting around 15 per cent of the business. We are selling through our own portal as well as online marketplaces," Singh said.
The company has nine stores in Calcutta and is looking to add three in the city.
In the eastern region, the company plans to add 7-8 more stores, taking its network to over 50 stores, while stepping in newer markets such as Nagaland.
On the product side, it is looking to expand its offering in the outdoor category as well as create a separate network for its fashion and casual product brand Woods.
"We already have many offerings in the outdoor segment ranging from footwear, apparel and accessories. We are further expanding our offering in the segment to include tents, sleeping bags, bicycles, and water-sports. Some of these products will be region specific depending upon demand and we will also showcase our offerings in our large stores," Singh said.
He added that the company has already opened outlets for the Woods brand. "Woods has its offerings in the casual and luxury segment and also reaches out to women buyers unlike Woodlands which largely draws interest among the men.
"We plan to open 10-15 stores in metro and non-metro locations for Woods," Singh said.
Singh was in the city to launch a new range of jackets catering to different customer requirements during the winter season.
The contribution of Woods to the company's total business is expected to increase from around 25-30 per cent to around 40 per cent driven by network expansion.
