AIIMS-Patna: Ready to celebrate

The second foundation day of AIIMS-Patna would focus on innovative use of technology used at the health hub.

The teachers have recently started using YouTube, videos and animation films to make studies effective and fun and these methods would be part of the foundation day event on September 25.

Students of other state-run medical colleges too have been invited to take part in the function themed “Towards excellence in medical education”.

“The teachers of AIIMS-Patna are using latest technology such as YouTube, videos and animation films and we would give a presentation of these in the second foundation day programme of our institute,” said Dr G.K. Singh, director, AIIMS-Patna.

A doctor of the cardiothoracic department said: “Teachers have started teaching topics through YouTube and video presentations as laboratories related to various subjects have not been handed over to the administration. This would help students understand how to go about various procedures step by step.”

Apart from academic programmes, cultural programmes would also be organised for the next three days.

“The main programme would be held on September 25 but we would organise competitions till September 28,” said Anshu Priya, a second-year MBBS student.

“On September 25, a rangoli competition would be organised apart from dumb charades. On September 26, a song and dance competition would be held. On September 27, photography, poster-making, and an arts and craft competition would be organised. On the last day, dance, skit and mimicry would be performed. We are trying to get a DJ from Delhi on the last day,” added Anshu, a member of the student’s council.
