Begusarai, Feb. 17 (PTI): An argument over a mere Rs 3 cost a youth his life after he was stabbed to death by a man in Nawkothi in Begusarai district today, the police said.

A heated argument took place between Bablu Yadav (21) and Pankaj Thakur over the petty sum when the latter took out a knife from his pocket and stabbed Yadav wounding him seriously, Nawkothi police station in-charge S.K. Sinha said.

Yadav was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, Sinha said. The accused has been arrested and charged with murder, the police officer said.

In another incident, a girl student was crushed to death by a tractor near a coaching institute in Munger district today. The death sparked off protests by locals, who set the equipment on fire.

Police said the 19-year-old was killed on the spot.
