Muzaffarpur July 3: There is good news for students who want to pursue vocational courses. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University is set to start vocational courses in its nine colleges from this academic session.
The Implementation and Monitoring Committee for Vocational Courses has given its nod to start the courses in the colleges. The chairman of the implementation and monitoring committee, vice-chancellor Rajendra Mishra, has also approved starting of five new courses at the nine colleges, sources said.
The new courses to be introduced from this academic session are bachelor of business administration (BBA), bachelor of computer application (BCA), industrial microbiology, child and nutrition and biotechnology.
Nine colleges where the students can pursue these courses include Mahant Darshan Das Mahila College, Ram Dayalu Singh College, Mahila Shilp Kala Bhavan College, Ram Manohar Lohia College, Muzaffarpur, Sri Ragho Pratap Singh College, Jaitpur, Lalit Narayan College, Bhagwanpur, Sri Narayan Singh College, Motihari, Sri Radhakrishna College and Sri Raghunath Singh Science College, Sitamarhi.
The committee, following the requests made by the principals of the nine colleges to start vocational courses, constituted a five-member team to examine the requisite need of infrastructure. After weighing the pros and cons, the panel gave its nod to start the new courses in the institutions.
