Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University vice-chancellor Bimal Kumar on Tuesday directed the registrar to evict all unauthorised persons from Duke Hostel of Langat Singh College and hostels of other postgraduate colleges under the institute.
The order came after various students’ unions complained of clashes between students at Duke Hostel and outsiders.
Dharmendra Kumar, a student of Langat Singh College, had suffered injuries when a group of outsiders attacked him on Sunday. Dharmendra lodged an FIR against an employee of Langat Singh College, Shashi Bhushan Prasad Singh, on Monday for allegedly masterminding the attack. The students alleged that Singh had been illegally staying in the hostel superintendent’s quarters for three years.
In the wake of the clashes, the vice-chancellor requested the Kazi Mohammadpur police station to launch a crackdown on the unauthorised persons staying in the rooms and quarters of Langat Singh College and other postgraduate hostels.
Langat Singh College principal Suniti Pandey, the university registrar and the hostel superintendents would accompany the police team.
