Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists created a pandemonium at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur, on Monday and closed the administrative building.

Hundreds of ABVP workers went on the rampage to protest the alleged manhandling of masters in business administration (MBA) students by examination controller Arun Kumar Singh on April 12. Singh allegedly slapped them when they went to complain about the inordinate delay of examination section employees in issuing provisional certificates. He even threatened them with dire consequences.

All 39 constituent colleges in Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, East Champaran, West Champaran and Sitamarhi districts under the university also remained closed.

Hundreds of ABVP workers gathered outside the administrative building and dragged out the employees and the officials from their offices.

Later, the ABVP men closed the administrative building and shouted slogans against the highhandedness of the examination controller. He, however, did not turn up in office apprehending trouble from the agitating students.

However, examination controller Singh refuted the charges and said he only pushed the students and restricted them when they tried to misbehave with the employees working under him.

The acting VC told The Telegraph that he has appealed to the rampaging students to shun the agitation path. Registrar A.P. Mishra has been directed to look into the complaints of ABVP men against the examination controller and take necessary action.
