Muzaffarpur, Dec. 15: Officials of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur, are busy preparing a budget proposal of approximately Rs 600 crore for the financial year 2012-13.

The vice-chancellor (VC) of the university, Bimal Prasad, has issued the necessary notification and guidelines to prepare the proposal for the next financial year.

Last year, the university had prepared an annual budget plan of Rs 565 crore.

The revised payscale of teachers and employees of the university and constituent colleges has led to the increase in the budget plan this year.

Prasad said the annual budget for 2012-13 would incorporate the expenses incurred on salary payment to teachers, employees, colleges and postgraduate departments’ development cell, hostel, sports activities, guest house, printing press, community hall, auditorium, health, library and other expenses.

The VC has asked the budget officer of the university to prepare the complete budget within 21 days.

The university would call a meeting of the senate in the second week of January.

The VC, however, admitted that the notification was issued a bit late.
