Patna, Sept. 11: Patna University administration is planning to take disciplinary action against a former BN College student involved in an eve-teasing and brawl incident on the institution premises on Saturday afternoon.

The student has been identified as Shashi Shekar. In the past, he has also attacked former principal of the college Rajkishore Prasad.

Two first-year geography students of BN College — Chandan Kumar and Umar Hussain — were beaten up by Shekar and his friends for protesting on Saturday afternoon when some former students of the college allegedly eve-teased a girl in the department.

The newly appointed proctor Kriteshwar Prasad, who looks after the law and order situation in the varsity, told The Telegraph: “A former student of the BBA department from the same college was teasing a girl student and hurling vulgar comments at her for the past few days.”

Sources said Shekar and his friends went to the college on Saturday and started to tease the girl when Kumar and Hussain objected. The duo was beaten up mercilessly and the girl was forcibly taken off the campus. For half-an-hour, Ashok Rajpath turned into a battlefield as Shekar and his friends beat Kumar and Hussain. As the teachers intervened and the proctor was informed, the girl escaped through another route.

Based on the complaint of the proctor, Pirbhore police sent a patrol team to nab the persons involved in the incident but by then, the rowdy students had managed to flee. Izarar Ahmad, the station house officer of Pirbhore police station, said: “No case has been lodged in this connection as the persons affected have not registered any formal complaint.”

The proctor said the varsity has asked the college administration, the Pirbhore police and the persons affected to give a report about the incident.
