Patna, Oct. 23: Electronics and jewellery are quite the rage during Dhanteras but kitchen utensils remain a clear favourite with the citizens to invite prosperity home.
Living up to the demand are utensil shops in the state capital that are offering imported products to homemakers, their best bet in the season.
Uday Gupta, the owner of Steel Corner on Boring Road, said: “Dhanteras is a big day for people who love to shop for their kitchen and give it a different look. This year, we have aluminium trays with enamel finish on offer. These come in bright colours. We also have designer spoon and dinner sets imported from Japan.”
A six-piece spoon set will cost you Rs 400-600. With a matte and gloss look, these spoons give a classy touch to the dinner table. The bright serving plates priced at Rs 500-1,500 are perfect to serve sweets and dry fruits to guests. But if you wish to dine like kings and queens, shell out Rs 19,995 for a 45-piece dinner set. Made of bone china, the imported set from Japan has a white base with floral design on the borders, said Gupta.
He added: “In the past few years, residents have started to buy crystal bowls as they believe these bring good luck. To match the trend, we have a good variety of crystal items priced between Rs 450 and Rs 5,000.”
Homemaker Dhurva Sahay said: “Kitchen is an important place at home and what can be better than buying kitchen appliances on Dhanteras? Every year, I buy something for the kitchen depending on my budget. It is good that branded companies have come in the market to offer us quality products.”
