Patna: Two new bus services - from Patna to Hajipur and Saguna Mor to Manersharif - were launched on Saturday to provide residents better connectivity. (See Page 10)
The bus service by Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRDC) has already become a hit on four routes, with 35,000 people travelling by them daily. Making the journey more comfortable, 12 buses were pressed into service and it will start from Kargil Chowk and stop at Hajipur railway station. Similarly, two buses were pressed into service from Saguna Mor to Manersharif fulfilling a long-pending demand of the residents.
Transport minister Santosh Kumar Nirala and transport secretary Sanjay Kumar Agarwal jointly launched the service from Hajipur whereas in Manersharif, apart from these two, Union minister Ram Kripal Yadav and Maner MLA Bhai Birendra were also present during the launch.
Agarwal said: "It was a need of the expanding city to make the journey of people better. Every 15 minutes, buses would be available for Hajipur and similarly every half-an-hour the buses would be available for Manersharif from Saguna Mor."
