Darbhanga, Sept. 8: With an aim to gather enough evidence to nail criminals, select cops would undergo a two-day scientific training at Kamla Nehru Library in Laheria Sarai from Septem- ber 12.
A seven-member team of the state forensic science laboratory (FSL) and three judicial experts would make police officers aware of the scientific methods of investigation. The forensic science team would be led by FSL director Umesh Kumar Sinha. The judicial team would include district and sessions judge of Darbhanga R.K. Rateria, retired district judge Shushil Kumar and public prosecutor Shiv Nath Verma.
Darbhanga senior superintendent of police Vikas Vaibhav told The Telegraph: “Tracking criminals has become a Herculean task now. Against this backdrop, police officers must be aware of the scientific methods used during investigations.”
Thirty officers, including inspectors and sub-inspectors, have been selected for the training on cyber crime, forensic science and mobile tracking. They would be also taught the techniques of filing chargesheets and submitting cases before courts during trial.
