Emphasising on the need to develop the state’s tourist and heritage sites, deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Thursday said an international convention centre is ready for inauguration at Rajgir.

The centre, constructed at Rs 30 crore, would accommodate 1,200 people. Modi said the government has sanctioned Rs 32 crore for the development of tourist spots located at all the four tourism circuits — Buddhist, Jain, Sikh and Sufi.

He added that the government would give financial assistance of up to Rs 5 lakh to those who wish to open either motels or dhabas along the 14 national highways in the state.
