Private Schools and Children Welfare Association would soon start an anti-tobacco campaign to make schools a tobacco-free zone.

Association president Shamael Ahmad said: “We’ll ensure that no tobacco products are sold or consumed within a 100-m radius of schools. The schools will be requested to keep signboards displaying tobacco-free-zone message in front of their main gates.” He added that the students were “the soft target of tobacco companies”.

Ahmad said a felicitation ceremony for students who topped the board examinations would be held on July 5.
