| Devotees queue up at Hanuman temple near Patna Junction early on Tuesday morning on the occasion of Ram Navami. Red flags in hands and Jai Shri Ram chants on their lips, the devotees didn’t get tired though they had to wait for hours to catch a glimpse of the deities. The doors of the temple were opened at 3am, while the devotees thronged the shrine from 11pm on Monday. “Ram Navami is a big festival. We wait for this festival throughout the year. Though I had to wait in the queue for around five hours today (on Tuesday), it was worth it. I know my wishes would be fulfilled with the blessings of the God,” said Shreya Gupta (18). The devotees took part in various processions organised in the city on the occasion. The 1-km- long stretch from Fraser Road to Station Road was illuminated. The devotees performed kirtans and bhajans till late on Tuesday night. Text by Shuchismita Chakraborty, picture by Deepak Kumar |
