Patna: The Holy Cross International School, where an 8-year-old girl was allegedly molested on Wednesday, has complied with most of the directives the Patna district administration issued following the murder of 7-year-old Pradyuman Thakur in Gurgaon's Ryan International School in September this year.

The school has CCTV cameras, fire extinguishers, GPS in buses, first-aid boxes and complaint boxes, but no training module for security guards.

"More than two dozen CCTV cameras are installed and the control room is in the principal's chamber," said Mayank Priyadarshi, managing director of the school.

"We have deputed maids at the girls' toilet. I don't know how the sweeper managed to sneak in. This is a serious issue and we accept that there have been lapses."

Asked about training for non-teaching staff, Mayank said: "Time to time we impart training, but as most of them are semi-literate it is quite difficult for us to make them understand good and bad touch."

The school, set up in 2013, got CBSE recognition for class X examination two years back and affiliation for Class XII this year. The school also appointed a person, Kiran Jha, six months ago as special educator/counsellor as directed by the board.
