Teachers and students of Patliputra Sahodaya School Complex (PSSC) now have a core group of experts at their disposal to address their problems.

The services of these experts can be availed by sending a text message to 9229224424, which was launched at a function in Patna on Sunday.

The facility has been launched by PSSC, which is a group of schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and has 168 members in Bihar of which 72 are in Patna. It has been set up according to CBSE guidelines and aims to work for common goals and other related things of the member schools.

“Students and teachers can message problems relating to their work, career or academics to this number. Based on the type of query, the expert concerned would reply to them either through text message or by calling back on the number from which the query had come,” explained PSSC secretary Chandra Bhushan Singh before adding that replies would be provided to needy persons within three hours of receipt of complaints.

He said the experts’ names had been kept secret for strategic reasons. Besides, revealing their identity might put extra pressure on them as callers might call them directly or request them to meet to solve their problems. One can also know about the events to be organised by PSSC by sending a message to the aforesaid number.

One needs to key in the word “Sahodaya” followed by the event to know about the event. For other queries, one needs to key in the word “Sahodaya” followed by one’s question.

Praising the initiative, Scholars’ Abode principal B. Priyam said: “PSSC is a group of schools and it can engage the services of different schools to address the problems faced by teachers and students. Moreover, it would also give students one more window to clear their doubts, both on the academic and career fronts.”

City students, however, appeared reluctant to comment before availing of the service. “Let me check the facility. Only then would I comment on it,” said a Class XI student of a school, requesting anonymity.

The PSSC, however, is confident about its success and plans to launch one more such service. “Come January and we would launch a helpline, especially for students, to address their exam-related queries and also to keep the stress under check while preparing for the final exams,” said Singh.
