Darbhanga, March 29: The residents of the town have refused to identify a 20-year-old youth Asdullah Rahman, alias Mintu, an alleged member of a terror outfit who was arrested in the Chandu Nagar area of New Delhi on Tuesday.
During interrogation, Mintu told Delhi police that he used to live in Saeed Manzil, the house of one Raja Bhaiya on Urdu Road near Neem Chowk under Town police station.
Mohammad Havivur Rahman, alias Raja Bhaiya, said he did not know anybody called Mintu and the house belonged to one of his close relatives, who works in Saudi Arabia as a banker. Raja added that he was staying in the house for his children’s education. Raja’s neighbours, too, said they did not know anyone called Mintu.
Sources in the Delhi police claimed that they had found explosives and detonators on Mintu and said he was a close associate of Indian Mujahideen (IM) member Yasin Bhattkal.
