Patna: Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav will be out of Patna for six days to campaign for his party during bypolls later this month.
He will address six public meetings in Araria, two in Jehanabad and one in Bhabhua. The bypoll was necessitated for one Lok Sabha constituency (Araria) and two Assembly seats (Jehanabad and Bhabua) after the sitting MP and MLAs died. Voting will take place on March 11. Tejashwi will address his first public meeting in Palasi block and the second in Kursakanthai on March 4. On March 5, he will address a rally at Forbesganj and Fulkaha and on March 6, he will address a rally in Raniganj and Bhargava. All these public rallies are in Araria district where the RJD has fielded Sarfaraz Alam, son of former RJD MP Mohammed Taslimuddin.
On the March 6 itself, he will return to Patna. On March 7 and 8 he will be in Jehanabad to campaign for Suday Yadav, son of Mundrika Singh Yadav, who was the sitting MLA. On March 9, Tejashwi will be in Bhabhua to campaign for Congress candidate Shambhu Singh Patel.
"We're sure all our Grand Alliance candidates will win," Tejashwi said before leaving for Araria. "People of Bihar are fed up with the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar and they want to teach it a lesson. The defeat in the bypolls will be the beginning of the elimination of fascist forces."
In Tejashwi's absence, senior RJD leaders like Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Mundrika Singh, Shiv Chandra Ram and others will have to play an important role during the ongoing budget session. Tejashwi will be away from the Assembly from March 5 to 9. RJD sources said he will brief senior leaders before leaving for the campaign. "A decision has been taken not to hamper Question Hour and to expose the government for their failure to deliver their work as promised to the people of Bihar," a senior RJD leader said.
Tejashwi will return to the Assembly on March 12.
