Patna: Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Thursday once again termed chief minister Nitish Kumar's Vikas Samiksha Yatra (development review tour) as jhansa (cheating) yatra, and said Nitish had become an event manager.

Tejashwi cited the women's protest that the chief minister had to face in East Champaran district on Wednesday.

"From the feedback we have got about the first three days of his yatra, I can suggest he should retire from politics. He is facing protests every day, wherever he is going. It is jhansa yatra of Nitish ji to review his vote bank. He has become an event manager who is busy in his image-building exercise," Tejashwi alleged at his 5 Desh Ratna Marg residence.

Nitish was on way to Parshurampur village located in Turkaulia block of East Champaran on Wednesday when he encountered the protesting women, who were holding up placards objecting to discrimination in government schemes under the chief minister's seven resolves.

The women alleged that it was only in the villages that Nitish was visiting that the resolves were being implemented. The police had to use force to remove the group.

Nitish, Tejashwi alleged, was not focusing on the problems of the poor and that is why he is facing protest from all sections of people.

"He laid the foundation stone for the same project (a health sub-centre) three times. In 2009, he had laid the foundation stone first and it is still not complete. He has forgotten the seven resolves. He is a confused person with no vision and clarity in his approach. The officials are misguiding him. He is not the CM of people but CM for officers," Tejashwi said.

The former deputy chief minister also alleged that district administrations are using child labour in the preparations for the CM's visit.

"The finance minister of the state (deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi) is not accompanying Nitish ji; he should at least tell in the yatra how much of the treasury has been looted from each district," Tejashwi added. "What is the outcome of the yatra? Education, health and law and order have completely collapsed. Twenty murders have happened in two days. I challenge Nitish ji to bring out the four-month report card of the NDA government."

Accompanied by MLAs Shakti Singh Yadav, Rajendra Ram and Ejya Yadav, Tejashwi also called Nitish an arrogant person.

"These days, he loses patience so fast - I do not understand why even though he does yoga every day," he said. "Nitish ji has become arrogant."
