Patna: Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Tuesday dared chief minister Nitish Kumar to arrest him if the administration believed that the RJD was responsible for attack on Nitish's convoy last week.
Speaking from his official bungalow, 5 Deshratna Marg, the leader of Opposition in the Assembly said it was very unfortunate that for every wrongdoing, Nitish asked JDU leaders to blame the RJD.
"Nitish ji has kept a few robotic people at 1 Aney Marg who speak on the instructions of the chief minister. To hide their own failures, they are blaming us," Tejashwi said on the attack on the chief minister's convoy at Nandan village in Buxar district. "The JDU leaders even named me and held the RJD and I responsible for the attack. If Nitishji thinks I am behind the attack, arrest me - it is your government and your police,"
With him was the probe team from the RJD, led by Shiv Chandra Ram, that visited the village few days ago. A day after the attack, JDU leaders had blamed the RJD, and Tejashwi in particular.
Tejashwi said the JDU was engaged in jhooth ki kheti (factory of lies) and slammed Nitish over alleged atrocities on Dalit women following the convoy attack. "JDU MLA Daddan Pahalwan is visible in the video of the police beating women. The village mukhiya, Rajiv Kumar Pathak, a BJP leader, and treasurer in the farmer cell is involved in liquor trade. It is the height of cruelty when handicapped people, pregnant women are beaten up and put behind bars," Tejashwi claimed.
"What kind of chief minister and deputy chief minister are they that when the CM's convoy is attacked, the RJD is being blamed? It is a intelligence and administration failure. If you cannot control these things, you have no right to be on the post," he said adding that he will visit Nandan village on Saturday.
He again dared the government to arrest him. "Put me behind bars if I have done it, handcuff me," Tejashwi said, before asking Nitish what kind of women empowerment he was talking about when ASHA and anganwadi workers were protesting against the CM.
