Patna: Tej Pratap Yadav brought underlying fissures in the RJD out in the open on Saturday, speaking on indiscipline in the party and attempts to pit brothers against each other.
" Kuch log hai party mein jo bhai ko bhai se ladwana chahte hai (There are people in the party who want to drive a wedge between brothers). I must say the way Lord Krishna returned to Dwarka after giving Hastinapur to the Pandavas, I will do the same. I have already announced that my younger brother will sit on the throne," Tej Pratap said after a puja at Banke Bihari temple that he constructed behind 3 Deshratna Marg, his former ministerial bungalow.
Tussle over posts and portfolios in the RJD had been heard behind closed doors till now, but this is the first time that the charges came out in the open. Tej levelled charges at the party - being run by brother Tejashwi Prasad Yadav for all intents and purposes in Lalu Prasad's health and legal-induced absence - but stressed he had no problem with Tejashwi, who he called his kaleja ka tukda.
Claiming that Dalit leader Rajendra Paswan got a post in the party after repeated requests, Tej added: "We talk about Dalits and we fight for their rights but why was the decision on Rajendra Paswan taken so late. He is a hardworking person."
Tej who got married to Aishwarya Rai last month also claimed his calls to party leaders were not being responded to. "They say they have orders from top to not share anything with me. What is going on that our own leaders are not listening to me?," he claimed, saying his wife was "shocked" to hear of the developments. "She told me not to let things go out of hand, and take the matter seriously."
The former minister, who represents the Mahua seat in Vaishali, added there is no discipline in the party. Without taking names, he said there are elements who want to break the RJD and its first family, and accused people of misusing the family's name for vested interests.
